Thanks to Leonard Lightfoot for uncovering another great image. This has to be one of my all-time favorites. As I have mentioned before a time or two on here, there truly is just nothing like a great snapshot.

“Gene Chandler Live On Stage in ’65”

1960s snapshot of cute Black girl posing with record albums and singles

Toy dog, records (including Gene Chandler), girl, circa 1965 (click to enlarge)

A bit of info on Chandler from this site: “Gene Chandler’s association with his first and biggest hit, the perennial oldies-station favorite “Duke of Earl”, tends to overshadow a long and fruitful career as a consistently effective Chicago pop/soul stylist. Chandler’s instantly recognizable, anguished tenor, polished by his years in doo-wop with the Dukays, proved to be a perfect vehicle for the urbane love songs of Chicago’s greatest pop/soul composer, Curtis Mayfield. Chandler, Mayfield, and producer Carl Davis collaborated on a string of hits for the Constellation label in the mid 1960s.”

There isn’t much to really say here, except that this is why snapshots are great.

Christmas morning, covered with presents. Old Spice, taken out of the box to display. I love this one. Merry Christmas.

Picnic

Quirky vintage c. 1960s photo of a woman eating, with Coke bottle and cat-eys glasses

Caught unawares, or just uncooperative? (c. 1960s)

Wired Woman

Vintage 1960s image of a woman posing in front of a telephone pole

Well-placed woman (circa 1960s negative)

Following up on a previous post about heads intersecting with background elements, here is another example of a woman captured without too much attention having been paid to where she was standing – unless, of course, they were actually trying to give her head that extra ‘something’.

Shooting at Water and Other Pursuits

Here are three great snapshots in, on and around water.
